To use this script, follow the GeneList From VariationList with BP Tolerance instruction below.

1. Expand the Scripts folder in the GeneSpring GT navigator. Click on the script named GeneList From VariationList with BP Tolerance.

2. In the script window, select the desired variation list from the mini-navigator on the left side.

3. Enter the ExpansionFactor; e.g., 30 or 50 to allow for the search of genes that overlap upstream and downstream of selected SNPs. The ExpansionFactor value refers to the number of bases up or downstream of SNPs.

4. Click Start.

   

5. The following is the resulting window containing the list of genes associated with the variation list of SNPs used to run the script. (Note: You can disregard values in the proportion column value shown in the resulting window. It is irrelevant for the purpose of this script.).

   

6. Save the gene list.
